Monday conversation: We visit John Daly world

Daly always has a smoke handy

     John Daly is in demand. When the PGA Champions Tour golfer shows up at a golf tournament, he is the main attraction of golf fans who gravitate toward him like a moth to a flame. Between his rock star persona, (yes, he hangs out with plenty including Kid Rock) at the Clarkston Union when both are in town, jams at Kid Rock's bar at LCA nightly during tournament weeks and it goes on and on. How many golfers are fodder for the National Enquirer? Well, this golfer with the loudmouth pants, constant cigarette hanging from his mouth and large entourage is still drawing fans and his recent appearance at the Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc was on target until a Friday withdrawal due to lingering shoulder and neck pains finally got the best of him.           
     When I spoke the the PGA staff on the availability of Daly, they said to get in line and the chances of him talking were slim. Still, with everyone wanting him for a few minutes, we pulled it off and in this interview done in a scrum with other reporters, the rarely shy (unless around reporters) who have burned him before gives us his insight into the current world of John Daly. You will find it worth the look.
