Quick Links:
  • Broadhurst started the day one shot off the pace at 9-under, and he earned a share of the lead with a birdie on No. 1. He broke away from the group with birdies on Nos. 5-7 to move to 13-under and take a two-shot lead.
  • After bogeying No. 11 to fall into a tie for the lead with O’Meara, Broadhurst birdied Nos. 12 and 13 to regain a two-shot cushion. Brandt Jobe and Tom Lehman cut the lead to one, but Broadhurst birdied the 18th hole to post a 15-under total and secure the two-shot victory.
  • This is Broadhurst’s second win in Michigan this year, as he won the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor for his second senior major victory. He leads the Tour with three victories this season and is now No. 6 in the Charles Schwab Cup.
  • Broadhurst topped the field in putts per GIR this week (1.513). He was also No. 1 in that category (1.57) when he won the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.
  • He was 14-under and bogey-free on the par 4s this week, the best in the field.
  • With the win, Broadhurst earned $300,000 and increased his season total to $1,447,004, a new career high. His previous best was when he made €1,141,431 ($1,269,170 USD) on the European Tour in 2006.
  • Broadhurst was one of eight players in the field that did not play the Buick Open on the PGA TOUR. Four of his five wins on PGA TOUR Champions have come in his first start on that golf course, with the exception being this year’s KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.
  • This is Broadhurst’s fifth win on PGA TOUR Champions, and all five have been final-round comebacks.
    • 2016 Senior Open Championship – trailed by 4, shot a final-round 68 and won by 2
    • 2016 PURE Insurance Championship – trailed by 1, shot a final-round 68 and won by 1
    • 2018 Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf – trailed by 1, won in a playoff with partner Kirk Triplett
    • 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship – trailed by 2, shot a final-round 63 and won by 4
    • 2018 Ally Challenge – trailed by 1, shot a final-round 66 and won by 2
Brandt Jobe, 65-71-67 – 203 (-13)
  • Jobe birdied Nos. 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15 to get to 13-under and pull within a shot of Broadhurst's lead. The comeback stalled on the last three holes, as he parred Nos. 16-18 to post a final-round 67 and finish second.
  • Jobe was one of three players to only make one bogey this week (Rocco Mediate/T5, Joey Sindelar/T9), and he played his last 41 holes bogey free.
  • Before this week, Jobe had not played the previous four tournaments due to a bruised rotator cuff. His last tournament was The Senior Open Championship at St. Andrews, where he finished T21.
  • The runner-up finish is his third top-five in his last five starts. He has five top-10s this season and improved to 16th in the Charles Schwab Cup.
Mark O’Meara, 71-64-69 – 204 (-12)
  • O’Meara, an Ally brand ambassador, moved to within a shot of Broadhurst’s lead when he made a long birdie putt on No. 10, and he became a co-leader at 12-under when Broadhurst bogeyed No. 11. O’Meara played the last eight holes in even par en route to a final-round 69 and a T3 finish at 12-under.
  • The tie for third is his first top-five in an individual event since he finished T4 at the 2015 Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
  • O’Meara was the fifth-oldest player in the field (61 years, 8 months, 3 days on Sunday).
  • He earned $132,000 and improved from 66th to 49th in the Charles Schwab Cup.
Tom Lehman, 67-67-70 – 204 (-12)
  • Lehman birdied Nos. 12, 13 and 15 to get to 13-under and within a shot of Broadhurst’s lead. He finished T3 at 12-under after playing the last three holes par-par-bogey.
  • The T3 finish is his third straight top-10 and each of his last 12 rounds have been under par.
  • In June, Lehman won the weather-shortened Principal Charity Classic, his 11th victory on PGA TOUR Champions. He has eight top-10s this season and is 15th in the Charles Schwab Cup.
Other Notes
  • Eight players held at least a share of the lead Sunday: Scott McCarron, Tom Lehman, Jeff Maggert, Esteban Toledo, Paul Broadhurst, Tom Byrum, Bob Estes and Mark O'Meara.
